Point of Sale orders are designed to record a quick sale and immediate payment (or placed on customer account). A POS order would be used for a checkout or counter transaction where the inventory is in stock.
The POS process is fairly straightforward;

add a customer
account (optional)

add line item(s)

tender
and provide a
receipt
to customer
Understanding the Line Item

ITEM:
Product Number and Product Name are display. The product number is linked to the product detail window

PICK:
select this box for this appear to appear on a pick list

INVENTORY
: On hand, on order, sold (qty on other orders), and available to purchase (ATP) values.

QTY:
quantity to purchase. Icon after qty shows product is available or a backorder is required

UOM:
Editable if other UOMs are available
-
UNIT PRICE:
product unit price (editable) and discount

SUBTOTAL:
subtotal of line item and tax

LOCATION:
selectable if other storage locations are set up
-
TRASH CAN: used to delete the line
Below are additional POS functionality to improve the experience. These features and more are in a demo below.
Pick List
A pick list
can be printed for a counter transaction where the inventory is not accessible by the customer and is required to be selected by an employee. A check box will appear to add to pick list when product is available. Once items are checked click on Pick List to create list.
Apply Price Level
The price level for all line items can be recalculated by selecting a price level and clicking the recalculate button
Inquiry
There is an Inquiry checkbox in the left panel that, when checked, will allow for product lookup without adding line items to the order. It will provide On Hand quantity, Base Price, and Unit Cost.
On Hold
If an order needs to be held for payment or any other reason, it can be placed on hold from the open status.
Order Lookup
Any previous or current orders can be found in the bottom of the left panel by toggling on/off the order status to filter orders. If the POS order number is known this can be entered and that order will open.
Product Category Tiles can be added to the POS screen to assist in finding product. When product is not scannable drilling down through the product categories can help locate the product and then easily be added to the order. Product On Hand quantities are also visible on listed category products.
